Jewel Rocks The “Early Show”

She’s gearing up for the release of her eighth studio album Sweet and Wild, and this morning (May 25) Jewel was spotted performing live on CBS’ “Early Show.”

The “You Were Meant for Me” songstress looked beautiful as she strapped on her guitar and sang for the audience as part of the Summer Concert Series in New York City.

During her interview, Jewel told Julie Chen that she loves her musical career morph to the country genre as it’s something that just comes naturally to her.

"I've always been a storyteller, so it's always been about that. And the great thing about the country format -- I'm such a fan -- is I'm excited to be played on the radio stations that I listen to when I get in the car. But the fans really love songwriting and the radio stations do, too. So I actually get asked about lyrics now, which is a dream come true for me."
